Gare de l'Est and Canal Saint-Martin: our places
Faubourg Paris Suite is at 132 rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, a stone's throw from Gare de l'Est. The 10th is one of the liveliest neighbourhoods in Paris: here are our places.

Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord
A few minutes' walk from the residence: high-speed trains to eastern France and Germany on one side, Eurostar to London and trains to Brussels and Amsterdam on the other. The ideal address to arrive and leave stress-free.
Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis
Right downstairs: delis, greengrocers, cheesemongers and cafés. One of the tastiest streets in Paris, from Porte Saint-Denis up to the station.
Passage Brady
Nicknamed « Little India », this 19th-century covered passage is lined with Indian and Pakistani restaurants.
Bouillon Julien
A listed Art Nouveau dining room at the start of the Faubourg Saint-Denis, serving traditional French food at gentle prices. Book for dinner.
Marché Saint-Quentin
On boulevard de Magenta, the largest covered market hall in Paris: fresh produce, delis and small counters under a fine iron frame.
Canal Saint-Martin
A fifteen-minute walk away: locks, iron footbridges and banks where Parisians picnic in fine weather. On Sundays the quays are reserved for pedestrians and bikes.
Hôpital Saint-Louis
Its square courtyard, built under Henri IV, is a calm haven open to walkers, between the canal and rue Bichat.
Square Villemin
A large garden along the canal with a playground: perfect for families.
Porte Saint-Denis
The triumphal arch built for Louis XIV marks the entrance to the Faubourg. Best seen at night, when the neighbourhood comes alive.
